River Credit

The Chorus
The Chorus (working title) is about a mystical Greek chorus who attempts to help certain New Yorkers solve their problems via sung riddles and persuasive prodding. It is based on a 10-minute musical written by Lauren and Emmy Laybourne as part of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.

Once There Was A Girl

In “Once There Was A Girl,” Victoria Woodhull gives voice to the three women of the piece: herself – an empowered suffragette and business woman; Josie Mansfield – a notorioius chorus girl and paramour of Gould’s partner Jim Fisk; and Helen Gould – Jay’s pious and doting wife.

The Gold Corner Opera

In “The Gold Corner Opera,” we hear the epic tale of how Gould and Fisk attempted to corner the gold market in 1869, leading to the infamous Black Friday. All in operatic format, as is fitting.
