Nominated for multiple Drama Desk and IT Awards, Waterwell has produced nine original pieces in New York and has been dubbed “Brilliant, original and inspired” by the New York Times.
Lauren is a member of BMI’s esteemed Musical Theater Workshop, which has cultivated such hits as “Avenue Q,” “Chorus Line” and “Next to Normal.”
Lauren’s film music has been screened across the globe, including the BFM International Festival in London.
As a singer / songwriter, Lauren has released two albums with her band and is currently working on her third.
She has also had the honor of composing for New York’s SYREN Modern Dance.
Her latest musical adventure is writing for the youngest of music lovers. She teaches these songs all across NYC, reveling in the unabashed joy with which children receive, process, and produce music. An album of her original children’s songs will come out in 2019 … stay tuned.
She is also co-director of Sing LIC, a program of children’s choirs that provides endless opportunities to fine-tune ears, build confidence, encourage teamwork, stand proudly in front of a crowd, and make a joyful noise.
She received her B.A. in Theater from Indiana University, a post-graduate degree in Voice and Theater from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and her M.A. in Composition from New York University.
